151 Ultra-Premium Collection Prices Are Falling: I Will Buy Below $650

I am waiting for the Scarlet & Violet 151 Ultra-Premium Collection to fall below $650 before I buy. Demand is low, collectors are burning out, and sealed UPC prices are already sliding from the $900s.

Key Takeaways

  • The 151 Ultra-Premium Collection was $863.08 on PriceCharting and $769.23 on TCGplayer as of October 22, 2026.
  • The TCGplayer price fell about 11% in under two weeks, from $867.97 on October 10.
  • I am waiting and will buy sealed 151 UPCs once they trade below $650.
  • Pokemon Wizard’s 52-week low is $556, so $650 is a price the box has already traded below within the past year.
  • No English 151 reprint has been announced, but reprint talk and fading demand keep pressure on prices.

The Scarlet & Violet 151 Ultra-Premium Collection (UPC) is dropping hard, and I am getting ready to buy. My number is $650. Once sealed UPCs trade below that, I will be a buyer. They will get there. It will just take a little time.

Demand for 151 is very low right now. If you’ve been waiting years for a fair price on one of the most popular modern sealed products, that’s good news. The whole Pokémon TCG market is changing quickly, and I’m happy about it.

Where 151 UPC prices stand now

According to PriceCharting, the 151 UPC has a market price of $863.08 as of October 22, 2026. That figure trails the market. TCGplayer’s market price, as tracked by Pokemon Wizard, was $769.23 on the same day. It was $867.97 on October 10, so it fell about 11% in under two weeks.

To hit $650, the box has to fall another 25% from PriceCharting’s $863.08, or about 15.5% from TCGplayer’s $769.23. Pokemon Wizard’s 52-week low is $556. That means the box traded below my target within the past year. Getting back under $650 would only return it to prices we’ve already seen.

How fast it is falling

PriceCharting’s sold listings show the decline step by step:

  • Late August 2026: TCGplayer sales were mostly $924 to $933.
  • Mid-September: still around $915 to $934.
  • Late September to early October: sales fell to roughly $875 to $890.
  • October 8 to 16: eBay and TCGplayer sales spread out between $599 and $1,025. Most landed between $730 and $880. One TCGplayer sale on October 15 went for $764.

That wide spread is worth watching. When sellers start taking very different prices for the same sealed product, the market usually has no floor yet. One sale at $599 doesn’t make a trend. But it shows some sellers already want out at prices close to my target.

For perspective, Wargamer reported in March 2026 that Walmart’s marketplace was selling this box for over $1,000. Whatever the exact peak, the top of the market was well above where it trades now.

Why demand has dropped

Collectors are burning out

I watch engagement on my own posts as a sign of how much people care about the hobby. At the peak of the hype, my posts were getting 500,000 to 700,000 views per day. Now I’m getting 200,000 to 275,000 per day. That’s a drop of roughly 45% to 70%, depending on which ends of the range you compare.

The Pokémon TCG is losing a lot of hype beasts and collectors. People are burnt out. When the casual money leaves, prices on the products it chased come down. 151 was one of the products it chased hardest.

The whole sealed market cooled

This isn’t only happening to 151. TCGinvest tracks daily TCGplayer prices and reported in late September that every sealed product it follows was below its 2026 high. The research site called it the whole market cooling over the summer. In that same data, 151 had fallen 26.8% from its 2026 peak, one of the biggest drops among older sets. Evolving Skies was down 10.7% and Hidden Fates was almost flat.

Reprint talk hangs over 151

TCGinvest also noted that 151 carries more reprint speculation than any other older set. There is real history behind that. A 151 Zapdos ex Box came back at GameStop in May 2025, and the Japanese version of the set has been reprinted twice. But TCGinvest found no announcement of an English 151 reprint. The site also reported that the Zapdos re-release didn’t hurt the 151 Elite Trainer Box price at the time.

The Pokémon Company has said since early 2025 that it is printing at maximum capacity and will keep reprinting products that are in short supply. TCGinvest cites reports that the company produced over 85 billion cards between March 2025 and March 2026. That’s a lot of new product competing for the same collector dollars.

New product is pulling attention

The 30th Celebration set launched on September 16, 2026, according to TCGinvest. Fresh anniversary product gives nostalgia buyers a new place to spend money, and some of that money used to go to 151.

What is in the box, and the per-pack math

The 151 UPC came out on October 6, 2023 at $119.99. Per TCGplayer’s product listing, it includes:

  • 16 Scarlet & Violet 151 booster packs
  • 1 etched foil Mew ex promo card
  • 1 full-art foil Mewtwo promo card
  • 1 etched metal Mew ex card
  • A playmat, deck box, metallic Mew coin, 6 damage-counter dice and 2 condition markers
  • A Pokémon TCG Live code card

At PriceCharting’s $863.08, you’re paying about $53.94 per pack, with the extras included. At my $650 target, that drops to about $40.63 per pack. For comparison, Pokemon Wizard lists the 151 Booster Bundle (6 packs) at $170.63, about $28.44 per pack. The UPC has always cost more per pack than the bundle. Collectors pay extra for the box itself, the Mew presentation and the metal card. That premium is fine at the right price. At $860 it’s steep.

Sealed vs. graded: the value is the box

This is a sealed product, so the usual raw vs. graded question works differently here. PriceCharting shows no graded sales for the UPC itself. Its only graded listings are two old PSA 6 sales of the box’s Mew ex and Mewtwo promos, which sold for $4.80 and $6.60.

The promos on their own are cheap. Almost all of the UPC’s value is in keeping the box sealed and in good shape. Condition matters a lot. Several recent sales in PriceCharting’s data were labeled as having a “small tear” or “knife slit.” Those usually sell below clean boxes. If you buy, pay for a clean box, check photos carefully, and store it out of the sun.

The risks

  • No floor yet. Recent sales are spread out and the trend is down. Buying today means trying to catch a falling knife.
  • Reprint risk. No English 151 reprint has been announced, per TCGinvest. If one ever happens, even of related products, it could keep pressure on prices while the product sits on shelves.
  • Demand may keep fading. If collectors keep leaving, a $650 box could get cheaper still. The $556 low from the past year shows how far it has already gone.
  • Price sources disagree. PriceCharting ($863.08) and TCGplayer ($769.23) are almost $100 apart right now. Check recent sold listings, not asking prices, before you pay.
  • Damage and fakes. High-dollar sealed boxes attract resealed and damaged listings. Buy from sellers with a strong track record.

What I Am Doing

I am waiting, then buying. I am not paying $770 to $860 for a 151 UPC today. I will be a buyer once they dip below $650. I believe they will get there. It will just take some time.

Low demand is the reason I like this setup. The people who bought on hype are leaving, and that’s when patient buyers finally get a fair price on a product people actually want. If you’ve wanted a 151 UPC but couldn’t justify the price, set your number, watch the sold listings, and let the market come to you.

The market is changing fast, and I’m here for it.
