Pokemon GX Cards Price Surges Past Tag Teams: Dragonite and Mimikyu Are the 2 I Am Buying

Dragonite GX 248-236 Unified Minds Rainbow Rare and Mimikyu GX 206-214 Lost Thunder Full Art Pokemon cards

Pokemon GX cards price check: I am buying Dragonite GX 248 at $155.21 or less and Mimikyu GX 206 at $149.95 or less, plus the sealed boxes.

POKEMON GX CARDS PRICE CHECK: DRAGONITE GX 248 AND MIMIKYU GX 206 ARE BUYS AT THE 90 DAY NEAR MINT MEDIAN

TL;DR: The Pokemon GX cards price climb is wider than the Tag Teams. Dragonite GX 248/236 reads $160.63 and Mimikyu GX 206/214 reads $135.16 raw Near Mint on TCGplayer. My call: BUY one gradable copy of each, Dragonite at $155.21 or less and Mimikyu at $149.95 or less. The sealed boxes are the bigger long term buy. Prices observed November 5, 2026.

The Numbers Behind This Call

  • Dragonite GX, Unified Minds 248/236, Rainbow Rare, raw Near Mint: $160.63 TCGplayer Market Price on November 5, 2026, up from $132.89 on August 6.
  • Mimikyu GX, Lost Thunder 206/214, Full Art, raw Near Mint: $135.16 TCGplayer Market Price on November 5, 2026, up from $110.46 on August 9.
  • 90 day Near Mint sale medians (TCGplayer plus eBay listings titled Near Mint or Mint, August 7 to November 5, 2026): Dragonite $155.21 on 15 sales, Mimikyu $149.95 on 26 sales.
  • Mimikyu GX 206, PSA 10, eBay sales: $999.49 (August 6, 2026), $6,100.00 (October 9), $3,350.00 (November 2). PriceCharting PSA 10 value $3,764.75 on November 5, 2026.
  • Unified Minds booster box, factory sealed: $3,376.76 TCGplayer Market Price on November 5, 2026, up 29.6 percent from $2,604.79 in the week of October 20, 2025.
  • Lost Thunder booster box, factory sealed: $2,116.13 PriceCharting value on November 5, 2026. TCGplayer sales rose from $1,450.00 (March to July 2026) to $2,199.99 (October 16).

The Pokemon GX cards price run is not only a Tag Team story. Two single GX cards from the Sun and Moon era sit on our BUY signals list, updated November 5, 2026. Dragonite GX 248/236 from Unified Minds is 21st at $160.63, up 7.8 percent in 30 days and 22 percent in 90. Mimikyu GX 206/214 from Lost Thunder is 24th at $135.16, up 11.2 percent and 22 percent.

Out of print Sun and Moon is the long term buy. I have said it before and the list keeps proving it. So I checked both cards against real Near Mint sales before calling them.

Both hold up. I am BUYING one gradable Near Mint copy of each at or under its 90 day Near Mint sale median. And if you have the budget, the sealed box behind each card is the even better buy.

Dragonite GX 248 Is a Real $155 Card, Not Just a Screen Price

The $160.63 on our signals page is the TCGplayer Market for the English Near Mint holo, product 195150, to the cent. It has climbed in steps since summer: $132.89 on August 6, $152.71 on October 7, $155.21 on October 26 and $160.63 on November 3, 2026.

That last step came with no Near Mint sale behind it. The Market moved on a quiet day, so I will not pay it blind.

The sales tell me where the card really trades. TCGplayer logged five Near Mint copies in 90 days: $200.90 on September 1, $199.98 on September 24, $199.98 on October 7, then $150.00 on October 26 and $155.21 on October 27. Ten more raw copies titled Near Mint or Mint sold on eBay from $112.85 to $175.00. Put the fifteen together and the median is $155.21.

That is my level. At $155.21 or less you are paying what Near Mint copies actually sold for, not the Market. The graded side backs it up. PriceCharting values a PSA 9 at $175.00 and a PSA 10 at $1,176.80 on November 5, 2026, and PSA 10 copies sold on eBay for $592.73 on September 27 and $1,200.00 on October 29.

Dragonite GX 248-236 Unified Minds Rainbow Rare Pokemon card

One warning. A PSA 8 Dragonite reads only $79.00 on PriceCharting, under the raw price. Rainbow Rares show every scratch and every off center cut. Buy only a copy you have seen front, back and corners, or it is not gradable.

Mimikyu GX 206 Is Already Selling Above Our Number

Mimikyu is the stronger of the two, and our own page undersells it. The $135.16 is TCGplayer’s Near Mint Market for product 178969, up from $110.46 in August and $121.57 on October 7, 2026.

Now look at the sales. TCGplayer logged fourteen Near Mint copies in 90 days, from $100.00 to $198.99. The two newest went for $191.99 on November 1 and $198.99 on November 3. Those are buyers paying far above the Market, right now.

eBay agrees. Twelve raw copies titled Near Mint or Mint sold from $88.88 to $224.99 in the same window, with $219.99 on October 24 and $224.99 on October 29. Put all 26 sales together and the median is $149.95. That is my Mimikyu level, and anything under it is a gift.

Mimikyu GX 206-214 Lost Thunder Full Art Pokemon card

Make sure you are buying the right card. Lost Thunder has three Mimikyu GX printings: the regular 149/214, this 206/214 Full Art, and the 226/214 rainbow secret rare. Check the collector number on every listing.

Are Pokemon GX cards a good investment right now?

Yes, bought raw, gradable and at the sale median. As of November 5, 2026, both of these Pokemon GX cards have climbed about 22 percent in 90 days on our page, and the Near Mint sales underneath confirm the prices are real.

Here is what the signal number alone will not tell you. The slabs moved first, and they moved much further. A Mimikyu GX 206 PSA 10 sold for $999.49 on eBay on August 6, 2026. In October it sold for $6,100.00 on October 9 and $4,500.00 on October 30, then $3,350.00 on November 2.

Raw Near Mint rose 22 percent over the same stretch. Raw is the cheap seat on a card the graded market already repriced.

Dragonite shows the same shape on a smaller scale. PSA 10 copies sold for $592.73 and $799.99 in late September, then $1,099.00 to $1,200.00 through October. Raw moved from $152.71 to $160.63.

The Tag Teams Are Still Climbing Too

This does not replace the Tag Team GX call. It widens it. Three Cosmic Eclipse Tag Teams share the top 50 of our BUY list with these two cards on November 5, 2026: Blastoise & Piplup GX 253 secret rare at $182.30, Blastoise & Piplup GX 214 Full Art at $106.56 and Venusaur & Snivy GX 249 secret rare at $79.08.

We have been a long term BUY on that era since our Tag Team GX cards call on October 13. The Tag Team sets have been out of print since 2019. Five Pokemon GX cards in our top 50 says the whole era is getting bid, not just the double Pokemon cards.

The Sealed Boxes Are the Bigger Buy

Here is where I go further than the singles. Sealed from these sets is even better, so I name the box next to each card.

Next to Dragonite sits the Unified Minds Booster Box. TCGplayer’s Market reads $3,376.76 for a factory sealed box on November 5, 2026, up 29.6 percent from $2,604.79 a year earlier. Fifteen boxes sold on eBay from October 10 to November 2 for $3,000.00 to $4,149.92. That box costs about 21 raw Dragonites.

Unified Minds booster box Pokemon TCG sealed

Next to Mimikyu sits the Lost Thunder booster box. TCGplayer buyers paid $1,450.00 for one in every sale from March to July 2026, then $1,750.00 to $1,849.00 in mid September and $2,199.99 on October 16. PriceCharting values it at $2,116.13 on November 5. TCGplayer’s own Market still reads $1,629.37, under every sale since September, so I price the box off PriceCharting.

Lost Thunder came out November 2, 2018 and Unified Minds on August 2, 2019. In my view, both are out of print for good. The Pokemon Company printed about 1.5 billion cards in the fiscal year to March 2019 and about 10 billion or more a year since the year to March 2024, so these sets were made in a much smaller world. Pokemon GX cards from that window, and the boxes they came in, are the long term hold.

How I Am Buying Them

One copy each, at the median or under. Dragonite GX 248 at $155.21 or less. Mimikyu GX 206 at $149.95 or less. If you can get Mimikyu near $150, do not hesitate.

Then I set a brake. Two straight lower weekly TCGplayer Near Mint closes on either card and I stop adding to it. The thin tape on Dragonite is the risk this call carries, with five Near Mint TCGplayer sales in 90 days.

If the budget is there, buy the box. A factory sealed Unified Minds booster box at or under $3,376.76, or a Lost Thunder booster box at or under $2,116.13. Buy only from sellers with return history and clean photos of the shrink. I am looking to hold all of it for 3 to 5 years.

Would you take the Mimikyu single at $149.95 or save up for the Lost Thunder box? Tell me in the comments what you would buy first.

I Am Buying Dragonite GX 248 Under $155.21 and Mimikyu GX 206 Under $149.95

My call is BUY on one gradable Near Mint copy of each: Dragonite GX 248/236 at or under $155.21 and Mimikyu GX 206/214 at or under $149.95, the 90 day Near Mint sale medians as of November 5, 2026. Two straight lower weekly TCGplayer Near Mint closes on either card stops me adding to it. The bigger long term buy is sealed: a Unified Minds booster box at or under $3,376.76 or a Lost Thunder booster box at or under $2,116.13. This is a three to five year hold.

The risk is thin trading. A Market can step with no sale behind it, which is why I price off sales. I will post every new Near Mint sale on both cards on our Facebook page.
