HeartGold SoulSilver Pokemon Cards Surge as New Sets Fall: The 2 Holos I Am Buying Small

HeartGold SoulSilver Pokemon cards Scizor 7-90 and Ninetales 17-95 marked BUY SMALL above Houndoom Prime 82-90, Espeon 2-90 and Deoxys 2-95 marked WAIT

HeartGold SoulSilver Pokemon cards checked on real sales: I am buying Scizor 7/90 near $75 and Ninetales 17/95 near $72 small, WAIT on 3.

HEARTGOLD SOULSILVER POKEMON CARDS ON OUR BUY LIST: SCIZOR AND NINETALES CARRY THE CLIMB ON REAL SALES

TL;DR: Five HeartGold SoulSilver Pokemon cards sit in our top 27 BUY signals, up 9 to 13 percent in 30 days. Only two climb on sales from more than one day. My call: BUY SMALL, one gradable Near Mint Scizor 7/90 (October median $74.00) and one Ninetales 17/95, WAIT on the other three. Prices observed October 29, 2026.

The Numbers Behind This Call

  • Scizor, Undaunted 7/90, Holo Rare, raw Near Mint: $72.55 TCGplayer Market Price on October 29, 2026, up 9.7 percent from $66.14 on September 30. Five October NM sales, median $74.00.
  • Ninetales, Call of Legends 17/95, holo (TCGplayer 87777), raw Near Mint: $70.36 TCGplayer Market Price on October 29, 2026, up 13.0 percent from $62.29 on September 30. October NM sales $69.85 to $74.99.
  • Houndoom Prime, Undaunted 82/90, raw Near Mint: $335.61 TCGplayer Market Price on October 29, 2026. The only NM sales in 30 days: three at $404.96 to $404.97, all on October 9.
  • Espeon, Undaunted 2/90, Holo Rare, raw Near Mint: $90.15 TCGplayer Market Price on October 29, 2026, on two NM sales in 30 days.
  • Deoxys, Call of Legends 2/95, Holo Rare, raw Near Mint: $60.59 TCGplayer Market Price on October 29, 2026, on two NM sales in 30 days.
  • Undaunted booster box, sealed: $7,710.50 PriceCharting value on October 29, 2026. Last eBay sale $10,000.00 on January 13, 2025.

HeartGold SoulSilver Pokemon cards are climbing while the 2026 sets keep sliding. Five holos from the HeartGold SoulSilver era sit in our top 27 BUY signals as of October 28, 2026: Houndoom Prime 82/90, Espeon 2/90 and Scizor 7/90 from Undaunted, plus Ninetales 17/95 and Deoxys 2/95 from Call of Legends.

Every one of those signal numbers matches TCGplayer Near Mint Market prices to the cent. But these are 16 year old holos that sell one to five Near Mint copies a month. So I counted the sales, and the days they came on, before calling anything.

Two of the five hold up. I am BUYING small: one gradable Near Mint Scizor 7/90 and one Ninetales 17/95. The other three wait.

Scizor 7/90 Has the Deepest Near Mint Tape

Scizor 7/90 from Undaunted is the strongest card on the list. TCGplayer’s Near Mint Market read $72.55 on October 29, 2026, up 9.7 percent from $66.14 on September 30 and 24.4 percent from $57.94 in the week of July 27 to the $72.07 weekly close. A year ago, in the week of November 3, 2025, it was $22.72.

The sales back it up. Five Near Mint copies sold on TCGplayer in October, on four different days: $74.00 on October 7, $71.14 on October 17, $70.00 and $94.98 on October 21, and $115.85 on October 25. The median is $74.00. In September the median was $68.97 on six sales.

The concession: the two newest sales at $94.98 and $115.85 sit above the rest, and they lift the Market. That is why my buy level comes off the $74.00 median, not the top print. Played copies are flat, with five Lightly Played sales from October 4 to 25 at $42.57 to $49.47. Near Mint is where the money is moving.

Ninetales 17/95 Climbs in Near Mint and Played Copies

Ninetales 17/95 from Call of Legends is the second buy, and the weaker of the two. One note first. The card on our signals page is the holo that TCGplayer lists as product 87777. The regular deck version of Ninetales 17/95 sells for $12.00 to $27.89 on eBay and TCGplayer. Buy the right one.

The holo read $70.36 on TCGplayer’s Near Mint Market on October 29, 2026, up 13.0 percent from $62.29 on September 30 and 40.5 percent from $50.07 in the week of July 27. Four Near Mint copies sold in October: three at $74.00 to $74.99 on October 13 and one at $69.85 on October 25.

Three of those four came on one day, so I went looking for a second witness. The played copies gave it to me. Eight Lightly Played copies sold from October 2 to 26, climbing from $30.95 to $55.00. When played copies rise with Near Mint, the buyers are real.

Houndoom Prime Moved on One Day of Sales

Houndoom Prime 82/90 has the biggest number on the list. Its TCGplayer Near Mint Market read $335.61 on October 25, 2026, up 12.8 percent from $297.40 on September 30. Now look at what traded. The only Near Mint sales in those 30 days were three copies at $404.96 to $404.97, all on October 9.

Three identical prices on one day is one sale event, not a trend. Played copies tell a calmer story. On eBay, twelve copies titled Lightly Played sold from October 5 to 21 at a $261.51 median, per PriceCharting.

I LOVE this card and it may not be a bad hold at all. I am just not paying $335 for a Market that one day of sales built. WAIT.

Espeon 2/90 and Deoxys 2/95 Have Two Sales Each

Espeon 2/90 read $90.15 on TCGplayer’s Near Mint Market on October 29, 2026, up 9.2 percent from $82.55 on September 30. Two Near Mint copies sold in that window, at $99.99 on October 15 and $127.99 on October 23. On eBay, raw holo copies mostly sold for $12.30 to $73.99 in October. That gap is too wide to buy into.

Deoxys 2/95 from Call of Legends read $60.59, up 9.5 percent from $55.34 on September 30 and 62.4 percent from $37.32 in the week of July 27. Its 30 days rest on two Near Mint sales, $79.99 on October 5 and $70.00 on October 6. Earlier, a single $199.99 sale in the week of September 21 pushed the Market up on its own.

Two sales is not a move. Both cards wait until more copies trade.

Why do these old holos print such jumpy numbers? Undaunted came out in 2010 and Call of Legends in 2011, years before production reached about 10 billion cards a year. Fewer copies exist, and far fewer change hands in Near Mint. The gold Charizard ex from Obsidian Flames sold 72 Near Mint copies on TCGplayer in the single week of October 19, 2026.

HeartGold SoulSilver Pokemon cards sell one to five a month. On a tape that thin, one buyer or one seller can set the Market for weeks. That cuts both ways… it is also why the real climbers can run when buyers keep showing up.

Are HeartGold SoulSilver Pokemon cards worth buying right now?

Yes, small, and only the ones with real sales behind them. As of October 29, 2026, Scizor 7/90 and Ninetales 17/95 are climbing on Near Mint sales from more than one day. Houndoom Prime, Espeon and Deoxys are not there yet.

Here is what the signal page alone will not show you. All five HeartGold SoulSilver Pokemon cards print a 30 day gain on TCGplayer’s Market. Count the sale days under each one and the field shrinks fast. Houndoom’s whole move is one day, and Espeon and Deoxys moved on two sales each. Only Scizor and Ninetales have buyers showing up more than once.

It is the same split we called on the XY side. In our look at XY Pokemon cards on October 29, ten year old full arts were climbing while new product slid. In our October 19 scan, 170 of 244 liquid cards from $50 to $800 fell on TCGplayer in one week. Out of print is where the money is going, and that is the call we have held since September 28.

Why Small, and Why Gradable Near Mint

Sealed HGSS is out of reach for most collectors. PriceCharting values a sealed Undaunted booster box at $7,710.50 as of October 29, 2026, and the last one it logged on eBay sold for $10,000.00 on January 13, 2025. One gradable holo at a time is how most of us own this era.

Small, because the tape is thin. HeartGold SoulSilver Pokemon cards sell one to five Near Mint copies a month on TCGplayer. One copy now and another only after the weekly closes confirm the level keeps a single strange sale from setting your cost.

Gradable, because that is where the upside lives. PriceCharting put a PSA 10 Scizor 7/90 at $685.00 on October 29, 2026, against Near Mint raw sales in the $70s. Buy copies with photos of the front, back and corners. 2010 holos scratch and whiten easily, and a played copy will not grade.

When you shop, match the listing to the card. Scizor 7/90 is the holo, not Scizor Prime 84/90. The Ninetales you want is TCGplayer’s holo listing, not the deck card. And Espeon 2/90 has a separate reverse holo price, which jumped to $104.41 after one $199.99 sale on October 27.

I would also grade them, but that is just me. You do not need a 10 for this call to work.

I Am Buying One Scizor and One Ninetales and Waiting on Three

My call is BUY SMALL on gradable Near Mint Scizor 7/90 and Ninetales 17/95. One Scizor at $75 or less, and add only after two straight weekly TCGplayer Near Mint closes at or above $72.07, each with a Near Mint sale. One Ninetales holo at $72 or less, and add only after two straight weekly closes at or above $70.36, each with a sale. Two weekly closes under $66.14 on the Scizor or $62.29 on the Ninetales pause the buy. This is a multi year hold.

Houndoom Prime 82/90, Espeon 2/90 and Deoxys 2/95 are a WAIT. Each one ends when two straight weekly Near Mint closes hold $335.61, $90.15 and $60.59, with Near Mint sales on different days behind them. I will post the moment one flips on our Facebook page.
